What is the difference between a self-order kiosk and a self-checkout kiosk?

A self-order kiosk is used at the front of a restaurant or cafe: customers browse the menu, customize items and pay before the kitchen prepares the order. A self-checkout kiosk is used in retail and supermarkets: shoppers scan barcodes of goods they have already selected, bag them and pay. MHY builds both, and the touchscreen, scanner, payment and printer modules can be configured for either workflow.

Do you support OEM branding and custom enclosure design?

Yes. We provide full OEM/ODM customization including enclosure shape and color, silk-screen or laser logo, boot animation, screen size, module selection (printer, scanner, NFC/RFID, camera, cash/cashless), operating system and SDK/API integration. Send us a drawing or even a sketch and our engineering team will turn it into a prototype.

Which certifications do your kiosks and readers carry?

Standard products are CE, FCC, RoHS and ISO 9001 compliant, with CCC for the China market and IP65 front-panel protection on industrial models. Target-market certifications and additional testing can be arranged for OEM projects; ask your sales engineer for the latest certificates for the exact model you need.

What is the lead time and minimum order quantity?

Standard models typically ship sample units within 3–7 days and bulk orders within 15–30 days depending on quantity. Fully custom OEM projects require additional tooling and pilot-run time, usually 35–60 days. MOQ is flexible: we support single-unit samples for evaluation and tiered pricing for volume deployments.

Can your passport reader verify e-passports and ID documents?

Our readers support ICAO Document 9303 standards, reading MRZ via OCR and chip data via RFID for e-passports, as well as national ID cards, visas and other travel documents. They expose SDKs/APIs for Windows and Linux so system integrators can connect them to check-in, border-control, visitor-management and access-control platforms.
